PT Encona Inti Industri (EII) started as the Project & Construction Management division of PT Encona Engineering, one of the few, if only very limited multi-disciplined forerunners in the Indonesian engineering industry. Set up as an independent subsidiary company in 1981, it officially operated as a wholly legal entity in 1985. Benefitting from the Know-How and Know-Who gained during all those times operating as the afore-mentioned division, EII proceeded to organize and manage general and specialized projects such as Petrochemical plants, Production or Processing industries, Power plants, Heavy Industrial facilities and Infrastructure projects.
Benefiting from it’s position in the Encona group, EII ‘s spearhead was it’s Engineering and Project Management capabilities, where it accepted full responsibility for the satisfactory implementation and completion of the entire project, while avoiding the huge overhead of having to maintain all of it’s own manpower. It was only in the later years, and due to the pressing needs, that EII gradually built up it’s own engineering-oriented resources, while still seeking to utilize the other Encona group’s potentials whenever it could. But even then, all the know-how gained through the long years of development and experience as a member of the Encona group was kept intact through a well documented and rigorously kept system.
Later on this was even further developed, specifically for the oil& gas sector , known for it’s strict international technical and high Health, Safety and Environment- friendly standards , when Encona took part as shareholder in PT Pertafenikki Engineering, one of JGC’s subsidiary company in Indonesia. It was through the experiences gained in its involvement in their projects, that EII ‘s introduction into this field was further strengthened.
In late 2007, PT Adhimix Precast Indonesia, a robust national concrete company, took shares in EII and thereby strengthening it’s finance and construction capabilities. This company, formerly set up by PT Adhi Karya, one of Indonesia’s strong state-owned contractors, thereby setting up a synergy of engineering and management strengh with fabrication, logistics, contrustion and financial power. And so, EII, which until now is more known through it’s engineering and managerial capabilities, can now be fully accounted for to provide a full scale service, running from the early Feasibility Study stage up untill the financing and completion phase of a project.
Encona group, initiated by Encona Engineering, was established in 1970, and stood in the forefront of Indonesia’s construction industry. Encona has a long-standing reputable track record in the field of construction industry in Indonesia. At a time when multidisciplined engineering firms were still a rarity it already maintained several in-house field of expertise, namely :

- Architectures, Landscape and Interior
- Transportation Facilities
- Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial
- Environmental Engineering
- Utility System
Those disciplines operated in an integrated system to compliment one another efficiently and effectively using manpower matrix systems to optiimize their contributions in projects undertaken.
Quality Assurance and Control, managed through an ISO certified system provide up-to date information and methods to achieve the highest performance result.
As a knowledge-based company, the company dedicates much effort on the setting up of systems to acquire knowledge, train manpower, record and document lessons learned from the experiences gained throughout the years.
